COALTION
PREVENTING YOUTH SUBSTANCE USE & INCREASING COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
90% of adults who struggle with substance use, started using substances before the age of 18. For this reason targeted youth prevention efforts are essential to combating the opioid epidemic.
Through effective prevention within schools and juvenile detention centers, youth peer support services, community education events, drug take back day events, awareness campaigns and more we can combat this epidemic and make a lasting impact.
Know The Truth partners with the OPUS coalition to bring substance use prevention education and peer support services to youth in Ramsey County. Through classroom presentations, Youth Peer Support Services, and a Youth Action Team we work to support youth, connect them to resources and reduce the risk of students engaging in substance use.
Through the coalition's Drug Free Communities grant funding, we are able to offer our services FREE of charge to Ramsey county schools.
About OPUS
The Ramsey County Opioid Prevention and Unified Services Coalition (OPUS) was developed to establish greater unity between law enforcement, courts, schools, and other community resources. Since 2017 our goal has been to engage, advocate, inform and bring awareness of substance use issues throughout Ramsey County, MN through education, prevention, enforcement and treatment to build a healthy, safe and drug free community.
