SERVICES UPDATE: PROACTIVE MEASURE TO COMBAT COVID-19
Published: March 24, 2020
As we continue to navigate the challenges and shifts caused by COVID-19, the Know the Truth™ Prevention Program is proud to say we have gone 100% virtual. With the help of technology we're able to actively engage with the youth and partners we serve. With students moving to online learning, and having to stay in one place we recognize this as a challenging, scary time for them, and behaviors that may lead to substance use could increase or be developed.
Prevention education messaging is more important now than ever before, so Know the Truth is prepared to use online platforms to stay connected and engaged with your students to share valuable information. We will continue to engage with students, educators and community members by virtually hosting:
- Evidence-Based Classroom Presentations
- Chemical Health Support Groups
- Professional Trainings
- Parent and Community Education Events
We have already begun scheduling virtual classroom presentations and will host a Webinar this Thursday March 26th.
If you are interested in scheduling a virtual presentation for your students in the coming weeks, please submit your inquiry here.
A Night to Know the Truth - Webinar
The Ramsey County Coalition offered a webinar in place of the presentation that was planned to take place on March 26th at Quora Education Center. We made this presentation accessible electronically on short notice in response to the COVID-19 Virus. If you would like to view the webinar or schedule one for your community, please contact us here.
ABOUT THE WEBINAR:
“A Night to Know the Truth” Webinar is an easy to stream, free presentation, for parents, educators, providers, community leaders and other concerned adults. The presentation will cover the current substances youth are using and why, identify risk factors and behaviors that lead to use, discuss the correlation with mental health and substance use, and provide tangible tools to relate to our current generation and have effective conversations to reduce youth substance use.
Let’s protect the youth in our community by taking the time to understand the current state of youth substance use and its related problems and learn how to have effective connections with youth. With all of this uncertainty and distance, prevention education is more important than ever.
